Type: Implementation of IRA
On December 16, 2024, GSA announced a $6 million award to AECOM Technical Services, an LA-based firm, to oversee the final phase of a modernization and expansion project at Calexico West Land Port of Entry. The remaining project work includes “the installation of a temporary pedestrian inspection facility on Heffernan Avenue, the demolition of the existing pedestrian building, and the construction of new permanent facilities.”
The contract is funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and IRA sections 60503 and 60504, which appropriated funds to GSA to support the use of low-carbon building materials and expand sustainable technologies and programs in federal facilities.
