GSA Awards Contract for Sustainable Renovation of Charles E. Whittaker U.S. Courthouse

On February 7, 2024, GSA awarded a $62.4 million of funding provided by the IRA for a repair and restoration project at the Charles E. Whittaker U.S. Courthouse in Kansas City, Missouri. The construction project will include the installation of low embodied carbon (LEC) materials. IRA section 60503 provides $2.15 billion for GSA acquisition and installation of construction materials and products with substantially lower levels of embodied greenhouse gas emissions as compared to estimated industry averages.
