Gulf Fishery Management Council to Hold Public Meeting on January 26, 2026 to Discuss IRA-Funded Projects

On January 6, 2026, NOAA published a notice that the Gulf Fishery Management Council will be holding a multi-day public meeting on January 26 through January 28, 2026 to hear public input on actions affecting Gulf fisheries. The meeting will be held in a hybrid format with in-person and virtual attendance options. Among the topics discussed at the meeting on January 26 will be an update on the Council’s IRA-funded projects.

The Council was one of eight regional fishery management councils to receive funding from NOAA, appropriated in IRA section 40001. This funding is to support coastal communities in building climate resiliency.
