House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Proposes IRA Rollbacks

On April 29, 2025, the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure proposed budget cuts rescinding $4.6 billion in Inflation Reduction Act-allocated funds for environmental reviews, low-carbon building and transportation projects, and projects improving access to transportation.

The Alternative Fuel and Low-Emission Aviation Technology Program is funded by IRA section 40007, appropriating $300 million to DOT to fund sustainable aviation fuel production and storage (as well as low-carbon technology projects). The Neighborhood Access and Equity Grant Program is funded by IRA section 60501, appropriating $1.9 billion to FHA for projects improving access to transportation. Low-carbon building is funded by IRA section 60503, appropriating $2 billion to GSA to install low-emissions materials in federal buildings. Low-carbon transportation is funded by IRA section 60506, appropriating $2 billion to FHA for federal transportation projects utilizing low-emissions materials.
