HUD Announces $1.5 Million to Finance Climate Resilient Homes in Illinois

On July 31, 2024, the Department of Housing and Urban Development announced $1.5 million to finance energy-efficient and climate-resilient improvements for affordable homes in Illinois. The funding is made available through IRA section 30002, which funds the Green and Resilient Retrofit Program. This investment will update existing common spaces, including replacing roofing, windows, doors, and lighting for very low-income seniors.
