On May 8, 2024, HUD announced the completion of a $750,000 grant transaction with Wesley Living of Tennessee. The grant transaction was made under the Green and Resilient Retrofit Program (GRRP) and will be used to supplement transformer upgrades for electrification work and replace the gas fired furnace with split HVAC systems at a low-income senior housing community, Woodland Homes. Sixty of the households at the property receive HUD project-based rental assistance. GRRP is funded through section 30002 of the IRA, “Improving Energy Efficiency or Water Efficiency or Climate resilience of Affordable Housing,” which authorizes HUD to take a number of actions to improve the climate resiliency of eligible properties.
