On March 26, 2026, NOAA published a notice that the New England Fishery Management Council will be holding a multi-day public meeting on April 14 through April 16, 2026 to hear public input on actions affecting New England fisheries. The meeting will be held in hybrid format, with in-person and virtual attendance options. Among the topics discussed on April 16 will be an update on the status of the Council’s IRA-funded initiatives.
The Council was one of eight regional fishery management councils to receive funding from NOAA, appropriated in IRA section 40001. This funding is to support coastal communities in building climate resiliency.
