New England Fishery Management Council to Hold Public Meeting on January 28, 2026 to Discuss IRA-Funded Projects

On January 14, 2026, NOAA published a notice that the New England Fishery Management Council will be holding a 2-day public meeting on January 28 and 29 2026 to hear public input on actions affecting New England fisheries. The meeting will be held virtually. Among the topics discussed on January 28 will be an update on the status of the Council’s IRA-funded initiatives.

The Council was one of eight regional fishery management councils to receive funding from NOAA, appropriated in IRA section 40001. This funding is to support coastal communities in building climate resiliency.
