Date: 09/09/2024
Deadline: 09/26/2024
Type: Implementation of IRA

On September 9, 2024, NOAA published a notice that the New England Fishery Management Council (NEFMC) will be holding a 3-day public meeting on September 24-26, 2024 to hear public input on actions affecting New England fisheries in the exclusive economic zone. The meeting will be in hybrid format, with in-person and virtual attendance options. Among the topics discussed at the meeting on September 26 will be an update on the status of NEFMC’s IRA-funded initiatives.

NEFMC was one of eight regional fishery management councils to receive funding from NOAA, appropriated by IRA section 40001. This funding is to support coastal communities in building climate resiliency.
