Type: Implementation of IRA
On August 1, 2023, NOAA announced the investment of $50 million in IRA funds to improve the infrastructure of six national marine sanctuaries in the National Marine Sanctuary System. IRA section 40002 provides funds for the construction of facilities to support the National Marine Sanctuary System as well as the construction and replacement of existing piers, marine operations facilities, and fisheries laboratories.
