On December 17, 2024, NOAA announced the launch of a new map tool containing a database of hundreds of NOAA projects to explore award opportunities funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act. The BIL-IRA Awards Explorer will “help communities and policymakers track and understand investments made” through the two laws. The tool contains three years of data on grants and cooperative agreements awarded by NOAA.
IRA section 40003 appropriated funds to NOAA to conduct “more efficient, accurate, and timely reviews for planning, permitting, and approval processes through the hiring and training or personnel, the purchase of technical and scientific services and new equipment, and the improvement of agency transparency, accountability, and public engagement.”
