Section 40003 of the IRA appropriates $20 million to NOAA to “conduct of more efficient, accurate, and timely reviews for planning, permitting, and approval processes through the hiring and training or personnel, the purchase of technical and scientific services and new equipment, and the improvement of agency transparency, accountability, and public engagement.”
The funds appropriated under section 40003 shall remain available until September 30, 2026.
Current Status:
Section 40008 of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act of 2025 (Public Law 119-21) rescinded unobligated funds under this IRA provision.
