NOAA Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council to Hold Public Meeting in January 2025 to Discuss IRA Funding

On December 27, 2024, NOAA published a notice that the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council will be holding a multi-day public meeting on January 27–30, 2025 to hear public input on various topics. The meeting will be in hybrid format, with in-person and virtual attendance options. Among the topics discussed at the meeting on January 27 will be an update on the status of the Council’s IRA funding.

The Council was one of eight regional fishery management councils to receive funding from NOAA, appropriated in IRA section 40001. This funding is to support coastal communities in building climate resiliency.
