On August 28, 2024, the Forest Service announced $15 million in funding for nine organizations “to connect underserved and small-acreage forest landowners with emerging climate markets.” The funds will provide these landowners with the resources necessary to care for forests and ensure their long-term health, an important component in the fight against climate change.
The grant recipients work across fourteen states throughout the country. This $15 million compliments the IRA funds that USDA has already invested in helping landowners access climate markets.
