On June 16, 2025, NOAA published a notice that the Western Pacific Fishery Management Council will be holding a multi-day public meeting between June 28 and June 30, 2025 to hear public input on actions affecting Western Pacific fisheries. The meeting will be held in-person at the Sadie’s by the Sea Conference Room, Utulei, American Samoa, 96799. Among the topics discussed at the meeting on June 30 will be an update on the status of the Council’s IRA-funded initiatives.
The Council was one of eight regional fishery management councils to receive funding from NOAA, appropriated in IRA section 40001. This funding is to support coastal communities in building climate resiliency.
