Western Pacific Fishery Management Council to Hold Public Meetings to Discuss IRA-Funded Projects

On November 18, 2025, NOAA published a notice that the Western Pacific Fishery Management Council will be holding a multi-day public meeting from November 24 to December 6, 2025 to hear public input on actions affecting Western Pacific fisheries. The meeting will be in hybrid format, with in-person and virtual attendance options. Among the topics discussed at the meeting on November 24 and December 2 will be an update on the status of the Council’s IRA-funded initiatives.

The Council was one of eight regional fishery management councils to receive funding from NOAA, appropriated in IRA section 40001. This funding is to support coastal communities in building climate resiliency.
