Type: Implementation of IRA
On September 24, 2024, GSA announced that it had selected Hensel Phelps to design and construct the new Douglas Commercial Land Port of Entry in Douglas, Arizona. The new facility will replace outdated infrastructure at the site. The project will use low carbon materials.
The construction project is funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act. IRA sections 60502, 60503, and 60504 appropriate funds to GSA to support green federal facilities, and the use of low carbon materials and sustainable technologies at federal facilities.
